MECHANICAL TEST ENGINEER - Pamplona
We are searching for a MECHANICAL TEST ENGINEER to join an interesting project in Pamplona/Zamudio, working for one of our wind customers.
The person selected will be in charge of managing the preparation and development of test campaigns for wind turbine mechanical components and subsystems.
Roles and responsibilities
-Development of test specification/test procedure: performance, halt, limit/ultimate, environmental test campaigns.
-Define test campaign critical time line and test project plan.
-Secure (purchasing or internal design/development) tools and equipment required for the execution of the test campaigns.
-Coordination of teams and contractors to prepare and execute the test campaigns (assembly, instrumentation, inspection, operation, maintenance).
-Monitor the test campaigns carried out by external test facilities.
-Ensure that all concurrent activities associated with a certain test have been assessed from the Health and Safety and Environmental points of view. Manage that the execution of these activities is done in compliance with the HSE Control Plan develop on the basis of the test campaign HSE Risk Assessment.
-Evaluation and report the results of the test campaign. Development of a Test Report Document.
Traveling according to the location of the testing facilities (wind-turbine test site, component “in-door” test bench, etc.) and test plans.
-4-5 years of University Studies in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent academic education
-English (Negotiation Level)
-3-5 years of previous experience in similar activities required.
-Solid experience in Design of Tests. Specification and usage of test instrumentation: sensors (strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure, temperature, displacement, noise, flowmeter), signal converters, data acquisition systems, hydraulic actuator control.
-Comprehensive experience in Test tooling specification and design.
-Good understanding of Data Analysis Software (excel, visual basic, Matlab, famos, diadem, C++).
-Knowledge in Time and frequency signal analysis.
-Experimental Modal analysis. Operational modal analysis.
-Noise intensity maps.
-Experience in Fatigue Tests definition.
-Knowledge in Measurement Uncertainty Evaluation.
-General knowledge of project management tools (schedule, budget monitoring tools)
-knowledge of Wind turbine systems and components is an advantage.
-Team worker with the ability to communicate effectively.
